Eurovision 2018: The registrations for the National Selection are starting today

The registrations for the National Selection of the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 are starting today, November 15th.

The composers can register songs for the National Selection of Eurovision Romania till December 15th 2017.

The songs can be sent via mail or can be submitted directly to TVR’s Registry office (Dorobanţilor Street no. 191, sector 1, Bucharest), on a CD support, by mentioning on the envelope „For the National Selection of Eurovision 2018”, or they can be sent via e-mail at eurovision.romania@tvr.ro.

The official Set of Rules of the National Selection is available on the official site at eurovision.tvr.ro.    

Premiere: 60 songs for five semi-finals

Immediately after the end of the registrations, the artists will come to TVR’s studios in order to perform the registered songs in front of the jury. For three days, in the period 19 – 21 December, the jury will listen to the songs in order to decide the semi-finalists, who will be publicly announced on December 22nd.

This year, the National Selection will bring a series of changes. For the first time there will be 60 songs in the contest, 12 songs for each semi-final. And also, for the first time, Eurovision Romania will have 5 semi-finals. The finalists will be announced at the beginning of February.

The Semi-finals and the Final of the National Selection will take place at the beginning of next year, during January and February 2018 in 6 towns from Romania.
