TVR will celebrate in 2019 the 20th Romanian participation in the final of the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC)  on the stage in Tel Aviv.

Registration will be exclusively online by filling in the Form available here until December 10, 2018 (24:00 hrs).

The pre-selected artists will compete in the semi-finals and in the National Final, all broadcast live by the Romanian Television.

If the semi-finals, the competitors will be evaluated by a national jury but things will change in the Final when the jury will be an international one. Romania’s representative at ESC 2019 will be selected both by the professional jury members and by the public, according to the official rules of the National Selection, available here.

Eurovision is an international music competition organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), the biggest association of public televisions in Europe. It has been broadcast every year for the last 60 years. It has become one of the most watched TV programmes in the world with many elements contributing to its longevity. Along the years, some of the artists and bands who performed on its stage were: ABBA, Julio Iglesias, Celine Dion and Johnny Logan, to name just a few.

TVR, as EBU member, organises the National Selection and participates in the European competition since 1993. TVR is the official broadcaster of the Eurovision Song Contest in Romania.

Romania’s best performances in this contest are: twice the 3^rd place (Luminiţa Anghel & Sistem - Kiev, 2005; Paula Seling and Ovi - Oslo, 2010) and once the 4th place (Mihai Trăistariu - Athens, 2006).

The ESC2019 will take place in Israel under the slogan „Dare to dream” and it will see representatives of 42 countries perform on the Tel Aviv stage. The international semi-finals will take place on the May 14 and May 16 and the Grand Final on May 18, 2019.
